Plagiarism

Ever look through the archives of the Fish Creek House blog (INNside Innkeeping in Montana)? It's amazing how many posts you find on the site where the content is virtually lifted, word for word, from other websites. One would think that the people who are intelligent enough to run a Bed and Breakfast in Montana would also know that plagiarism is a big no no. And that if you republish other people's printed words without their permission, you risk violating US Copyright Law.

Let the fun begin.

If you have an example of an abuse on the Fish Creak House blog (INNside Innkeeping in Montana - look it up in Google, we don't want to give them the benefit of a link) please email us at fishcreekhousewatch@gmail.com with a link to the offending post, and to the post from which the content was lifted.

Then mention this site on your blog http://fishcreekhousewatch.blogspot.com with the words "Fish Creek House" in the link.

Make sure you do not link to their actual website, whatever you do. We do not want to give them any page rank benefits from inbound links.

On this site if we link to specific blog posts, we will use the "nofollow" attribute (rel="nofollow") in the hyperlink so that search engines will not follow the link back to the Fish Creek House blog and give them undeserved page rank.

She's mostly gone from blogging now, the entire thing came to a head when she plagiarized from author Suzanne McMinn over the past weekend. Her blogs have been outright removed by administrators, but also she has deleted or made private the others. There are so many screenshots and pages saved, however, that she can't scrub out evidence of her thievery. Apparently owner Cindy (Cid and also Cyd, sometimes) Busarow of Fish Creek House blamed the plagiarism on their "editor," but the editor and Cindy appear to be the same person. All over the web, GP Stone (GreatPicken), DE Stone, and Horsewoman claim to be the owner of Fish Creek House, claim to be married to Dan, so it's either the same person or...it's the same person. Anyway, even if it was not, Cindy Busarow has her own plagiarizing under her own name going on. An example of "Cid's writing": http://www.ultimatearticledirectory

and here it is under "Cyd" :

which actually belongs to this 1996 article written by Julie Crist for a magazine:
